Ruto pledges Ksh600 million to finish Enziu Bridge by September

President William Ruto has announced that the Enziu Bridge in Kitui County will be completed by September following a Ksh600 million allocation. The commitment was made during a July 12 church service in the county.

President William Ruto stated that his administration has pledged Ksh600 million for the bridge's completion. He noted that the project has faced delays due to logistical challenges in importing key construction materials.

The announcement occurred at ACK St. Martin’s Cathedral in Kitui County. Ruto said the bridge would be finished within the next one to one and a half months.

The bridge project has been stalled since December 2021. In April 2026 the Treasury released Ksh150 million to clear arrears and allow work to resume on the decking phase.
