President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella announced the appointment of Jorge Jaller as Colombia's ambassador to Venezuela during July 20 events in Medellín.
Abelardo de la Espriella led the July 20 military parade in Medellín alongside Mayor Federico Gutiérrez. During his speech at the Túnel del Toyo visit, the president-elect presented Jorge Jaller as ambassador to Venezuela and Jaime Uribe as president of ProColombia.
De la Espriella highlighted Antioquia's role in his election and said the department will be key to his initiatives. He confirmed he will be sworn in at a military garrison to support the armed forces.
Federico Gutiérrez said that with the new government starting August 7 "cesará la horrible noche". The mayor praised the Antioquia and Medellín model and called to dismantle the outgoing government's total peace policy.
