Elected Colombian government begins outreach to World Bank

Elected Vice President José Manuel Restrepo held a meeting in Washington, D.C. with World Bank Group executives to outline technical and financial support.

The meeting took place on Monday, July 13, in the U.S. capital. Restrepo was accompanied by the designated ministers of Finance and Trade.

During the encounter the Colombian delegation outlined its economic policy lines for the 2026-2030 period. The main topics were macroeconomic stability, strengthening of public finances and investment attraction.

Representatives from the World Bank, IFC and MIGA presented options for technical and financial cooperation. The parties agreed to advance a joint roadmap before the inauguration on August 7.
