Home textile market to reach USD 200.28 billion by 2031

The global home textile market is estimated at USD 145.29 billion in 2026, up from USD 136.25 billion in 2025, and projected to grow to USD 200.28 billion by 2031 at a 6.63% CAGR, according to a Mordor Intelligence report. Growth is driven by rising consumer interest in premium décor, online retail shifts, and housing developments in emerging economies. Asia-Pacific holds 45.08% market share in 2025 and expects the fastest regional growth.

Mordor Intelligence released a report on March 9, 2026, from Hyderabad, India, forecasting steady expansion in the home textile sector. The market's growth reflects increasing disposable incomes in emerging economies, which boost adoption of higher-quality products, alongside home renovation trends that elevate average selling prices. Innovations in antimicrobial and smart fabrics are broadening applications, while Asia-Pacific's manufacturing strengths ensure supply chain stability despite raw material price fluctuations like cotton and polyester.

Key drivers include the expansion of online and direct-to-consumer channels, where brands emphasize storytelling and personalized experiences to facilitate purchases without physical interaction. Retailers are enhancing omnichannel strategies, and global platforms provide access to diverse styles. Another factor is rising residential real estate in areas like India, China, and Latin America, fueled by urbanization and middle-class growth, prompting demand for bedding, upholstery, and curtains from branded sources.

Regionally, North America focuses on sustainable and performance-enhanced materials, with sourcing shifts toward Mexico for efficiency. Asia-Pacific dominates with integrated production in China and India, supported by housing programs and online accessibility. Europe faces stricter sustainability rules pushing recycled fibers.

"Demand for home textiles continues to track housing upgrades, rising disposable incomes, and the steady shift toward online retail channels," said Jayveer V, Senior Research Manager at Mordor Intelligence. The report segments the market by products like bed linen and kitchen linen; distribution via specialty stores (43.88% share in 2025), online retail, and supermarkets; materials including cotton and polyester; end users such as residential and hospitality; and price tiers from mass to luxury. Major players include Welspun Group, Springs Global, Ralph Lauren Home, Trident Group, and IKEA Systems B.V.
