Logan Paul addressed safety concerns with WWE ring mats on his ImPaulsive podcast, attributing slipperiness to painted sponsor logos. The issue came to light following LA Knight's slip during the Elimination Chamber event. Paul, who helped initiate ring sponsorships with his Prime brand, noted that initial tests deemed the paint safe, but recent applications have proven problematic.
Logan Paul, a WWE performer and former champion, spoke on the March 4, 2026, episode of his ImPaulsive podcast about challenges posed by sponsor logos on WWE ring mats. The discussion followed the WWE Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event, where LA Knight slipped while attempting a mid-rope elbow drop on Randy Orton during the men's Chamber match. Paul defended Knight, stating the ropes were slippery by the event's end due to sweat and oil from prior matches.
Paul explained that the ring mat's center becomes particularly hazardous late in shows. 'By the end of the night, the middle of that ring gets really slippery with them logos painted in there. I’ll just say it, bro, I noticed. I can’t get running full speed. I’ve gotta be really careful with my feet and my placement, because the logos that they now paint in the middle of the ring,' Paul said.
He revealed his role in starting in-ring sponsorships, with Prime—his hydration drink brand co-founded with KSI—being the first logo placed in the ring's center. 'That I started. I started it with Prime. We were the first in-ring middle of the ring sponsor ever with the logo. It’s not us anymore, it’s not us anymore,' Paul added. Prior to implementation, WWE conducted stress tests on the mats with wrestlers to check for oiliness, determining the initial paint type was not slippery. However, subsequent use of colored paints has led to issues. 'But then they started using colored paint as well. I don’t know what they’re using now, but I’m telling you, it’s slippery,' Paul noted.
Since the TKO-WWE merger, advertisements have appeared on ring mats and turnbuckles to boost revenue. In the men's Elimination Chamber match, Paul eliminated LA Knight, Trick Williams, and Je’Von Evans before being eliminated by Cody Rhodes after Seth Rollins' interference.
