Pilipinas ipinagdiriwang ang ika-10 anibersaryo ng 2016 arbitral award

Ipinagdiriwang ngayon ng Pilipinas ang ika-10 anibersaryo ng arbitral award na ibinigay noong 2016 sa The Hague na nagpawalang-bisa sa mga claim ng China sa South China Sea.

Sa isang event na inorganisa ng Department of Foreign Affairs, sinabi ni Solicitor General Darlene Berberabe na ang award ay nakatanim na sa konstitusyon, batas at institusyon ng bansa.

Binanggit niya ang Philippine Maritime Zones Act at Archipelagic Sea Lanes Act ng 2024 gayundin ang Executive Order 111 na nagngangalan sa West Philippine Sea at 131 features sa Kalayaan Island Group.

Sinabi naman ni Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro Jr. na ang bansa ay handang lumaban para sa mga karapatan nito sa West Philippine Sea para sa kasalukuyan at hinaharap na henerasyon.
