President Prabowo Subianto is confirmed to attend the first high-level conference of the Board of Peace (BoP) in Washington DC, United States, on February 19, 2026. During the visit, he will also sign the Indonesia-US Reciprocal Tariff Agreement. This attendance underscores Indonesia's commitment to shaping the BoP's direction from the outset.
President Prabowo Subianto will attend the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace (BoP) held at the US Institute of Peace in Washington DC on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Vahd Nabyl A Mulachela confirmed the attendance in a written statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. "President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend," Nabyl stated.
Prabowo's presence aims to affirm Indonesia's commitment to actively participate in shaping the direction and operations of the BoP from the early stages. During the meeting, Prabowo will advocate for Palestinian interests, particularly the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian people's struggle, in line with the wishes of the Indonesian public. Indonesia continues to push for Gaza's recovery and a just, sustainable peace for Palestine through the two-state solution via its involvement in the BoP.
Indonesia officially became a BoP member after Prabowo signed the founding charter in Davos, Switzerland, on January 22, 2026. In addition to the BoP agenda, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto confirmed that Prabowo will sign the Agreement on Reciprocal Tariff (ART) with the US around February 19. "The President is scheduled to attend the event on the 19th (February), and around that date, there will also be plans to sign the ART," Airlangga said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The White House has announced the holding of the first BoP summit on February 19, contacting member country leaders to attend the event.
