President William Ruto announced an increase in annual sponsorship for AFC Leopards to KSh 100 million during a meeting at State House on July 15.
President William Ruto met with AFC Leopards officials at State House on Wednesday, July 15. He said the club currently receives KSh 75 million a year in sponsorship and announced an addition of KSh 25 million to reach KSh 100 million for this year.
Ruto also pledged KSh 10 million to the club. He directed that KSh 5 million be shared among the players and the remaining KSh 5 million be used to recruit new players ahead of the 2026/27 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season.
The president further pledged government support to upgrade the club's home ground. He directed Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya to develop a design for the stadium improvements. The government is building stadiums nationwide as Kenya prepares to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations with Tanzania and Uganda.
