Building on the featured groups announced earlier this week, the PGA Tour has released complete tee times and pairings for the first two rounds of the 52nd Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass. Defending champion Rory McIlroy and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler headline the schedule, with notable absences including Tiger Woods.
The PGA Tour announced full tee times on Sunday, March 8, for the opening rounds of the 2026 Players Championship, starting Thursday at the Players Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. This is the 52nd edition, featuring 46 of the top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking.
As previously highlighted, defending champion Rory McIlroy (2025 playoff winner) tees off at 1:42 p.m. ET from the No. 1 tee with Xander Schauffele and 2021 winner Hideki Matsuyama. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, seeking a third title, starts at 8:52 a.m. ET from the No. 10 tee alongside Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Thomas.
Additional notable groups include:
- FedExCup leader Collin Morikawa, Ludvig Åberg and 2017 champion Si Woo Kim at 8:40 a.m. from No. 10.
- Akshay Bhatia (fresh off Arnold Palmer Invitational win), Brooks Koepka and Tony Finau at 8:28 a.m. from No. 10.
- Viktor Hovland, Russell Henley and Robert MacIntyre at 9:04 a.m. from No. 10—all top-20 players and 2025 Ryder Cup participants.
- Fan favorites Sahith Theegala, Rickie Fowler (2015 winner) and Jordan Spieth at 1:30 p.m. from No. 1, all with top-11 finishes last week at Bay Hill.
Tiger Woods is absent, recovering from a ruptured left Achilles (March 2025) and October lumbar surgery. He has played The Players just three times since his 2013 win. Justin Thomas said, "I'm always going to be for him playing. I think for the betterment of golf and the tournament, I don't think there's anybody that would be against it."
Full tee times for Thursday (starting from Nos. 1 and 10 tees) and Friday are available on the PGA Tour website.
