Air/Water show previews Porsche classics and moderns in Costa Mesa

The Air/Water show, a gathering of air-cooled and water-cooled Porsches, returns to Costa Mesa this April for its fourth edition. The event welcomes owners, fans, and enthusiasts to view vintage and modern models alongside motorsport celebrations and a rare car auction. General admission is affordable, with free entry for children under 12.

This April, the Air/Water show in Costa Mesa brings together vintage and modern Porsches, expanding on the Luftgekuhlt series by including both air-cooled and water-cooled vehicles. Attendees can expect displays of 911s in various forms, transaxle-era models like the 928, and early classics such as 356s. The event features indoor and outdoor exhibits, with Porsche motorsports cars prominently showcased, including endurance racers like the Texaco-livery 962 and the current 992 GT3 Cup car.

Celebrations mark the anniversary of Porsche Motorsport, complemented by an auction of super-rare machines from Stuttgart, such as the ultra-rare Schuppan 962CR, a carbon-fiber Le Mans car adapted for road use. A dedicated showcase highlights off-road-oriented Porsches, including the Cayenne and 911 Dakar. Enthusiasts will find vendors from over 50 Porsche specialists offering items from engine cooling to custom wheels, alongside representatives from outlets like 000 Magazine.

The show emphasizes Porsche's racing heritage, from the 911 Type 954's rallies in Europe and the Middle East to modern 911 Turbos and GT3s in racing livery. Highlights include rare 911 colors, accessories on models like an orange 991-chassis 911, and vehicles like an RS Spyder safety car near dinosaur-liveried GT3s. Porsche owners with air-cooled 911s, budget Boxsters, or simply fans are all invited to participate.
