The French home décor retailer Alinéa has begun a major clearance sale with up to 30% discounts at its stores in Rosny-sous-Bois and Herblay, as it faces potential closure amid judicial recovery. The sales, running until March 31, 2026, apply to sofas, tableware, linens, and furniture. This comes after a failed acquisition and with over 1,000 jobs at risk across France.
Alinéa, a well-known home furnishings retailer, entered judicial recovery in November 2025 and has been struggling to find a buyer. An acquisition offer from Romanian group SDC Holding was withdrawn on February 12, increasing the likelihood of liquidation for seven stores in the Île-de-France region.
The clearance sales started in late February 2026, offering 30% discounts on all products at participating locations, including the Domus shopping center in Rosny-sous-Bois (Seine-Saint-Denis, 93) and a store in Herblay (Val-d’Oise, 95). The Rosny-sous-Bois store, which reopened in 2024, is set to close by the end of March 2026 at the latest, with a similar timeline for the Herblay site.
These sales, from February 20 to March 31, 2026, cover various departments such as sofas, tableware, household linens, and furniture. The retailer has informed Actu Paris that it awaits instructions on possibly raising discount rates in the coming weeks.
The situation affects around 1,200 employees nationwide, with hundreds in Île-de-France at risk. A court decision on the company's future is expected following a review of offers on March 5, 2026.
