Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 releases season 2 update on February 5

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launched its season 2 update on February 5, 2025, introducing new multiplayer maps, weapons, and game modes across various playstyles. The update also revives Ranked Play and adds fresh Zombies content. Players can access over 100 Battle Pass rewards, including the new character Victoria Atwood.

The season 2 update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 arrived on February 5, 2025, bringing extensive new content to multiplayer, Zombies, and Endgame modes. In multiplayer, nine new maps were added: four at launch—Slums, a returning skatepark from Black Ops 2; Torment, a small map with blood rain and guild boxes; Sake, set in a Japanese sake factory; and Nexus, featuring debris from The Battle of Los Angeles. Five more maps follow mid-season: Grind, Firing Range from Black Ops 1, Cliff Town as a Yemen remake, Torque, and Mission: Peak.

Seven new weapons join the arsenal, including the REV-46 submachine gun with a fire rate of 1,111 bullets per minute and a foldable stock for control options, and the EGRT-17 assault rifle that fires bullets bouncing off walls and objects. Ranked Play returns with professional Call of Duty League rules, requiring 50 multiplayer wins to unlock, a new placement system, enhanced RICOCHET anti-cheat for PC, and tiered rewards such as the Herculean weapon skin for top 250 players and the Monstrum calling card for the number one player.

New modes include Safeguard, where teams escort a robot; Overdrive, a Team Deathmatch with kill-unlocked abilities like wall-penetrating vision; Luck Confirmed, featuring random high-point drops; and Third Wheel Gunfight for 3v3 action. Mid-season adds Gauntlet and Infected. Zombies receives Mars Survival, a reworked Astra Malorum area with Wall Buys and Pack-a-Punch fighting Uber Klaus; Cursed Survival, emulating Black Ops 3's classic style; and the mid-season round-based map Paradox Junction.

Endgame mode updates feature Guild Strikes creating Nightmare Zones, the Eagle Eye Skill Track for precision play, mid-season abilities Sentinel Protocol and Blood Burner, and replayable Glitches post-Strike Boss defeats. Balance adjustments include unblocking HARP for Scout Hybrid, Black Ops 6 Scorestreaks in Care Packages, reduced DAWG damage in Sentry Mode, increased long-range assault rifle damage, and UAV Buy Station cost rising from $6,000 to $8,000. The Battle Pass offers over 100 items, with BlackCell providing a permanent 10% XP boost expandable to 50% across seasons.
