Chinese citizens evacuated from Iran return home via Turkmenistan

The first group of 25 Chinese citizens evacuated from Iran boarded a flight back to China early Wednesday morning from Turkmenistan, Xinhua News Agency reported. They entered Turkmenistan via the Sarakhs border point on Tuesday afternoon local time and traveled by bus arranged by the Chinese Embassy in Turkmenistan.

(ECNS) -- The first group of 25 Chinese citizens evacuated from Iran to Turkmenistan boarded a flight back to China early Wednesday morning, according to a Xinhua News Agency report. The evacuees entered Turkmenistan through the Sarakhs border point on Tuesday afternoon local time and then departed by bus arranged by the Chinese Embassy in Turkmenistan.

They arrived at Ashgabat International Airport on Tuesday night, where a working team from the Chinese embassy assisted them with check-in procedures. Zhong Hua, Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Turkmenistan, visited the evacuees at the airport.

This evacuation highlights China's efforts to ensure the safety of its citizens abroad amid regional tensions. The report is by Zhang Dongfang.
