Ed Sheeran announces Loop Tour for Australia and New Zealand in 2026

Global superstar Ed Sheeran will return to Australia and New Zealand in January, February, and March 2026 with his new Loop Tour, featuring stadium shows across multiple cities. The tour follows the release of his upcoming album Play on September 12. Frontier Touring and MG Live made the announcement, highlighting a fresh live show with new music and hits.

Frontier Touring and MG Live have announced that Ed Sheeran will bring his all-new Loop Tour to Australia and New Zealand for a series of stadium performances in early 2026. The tour kicks off in Auckland, followed by shows in Wellington and Christchurch—marking Sheeran's first performance in Christchurch in 11 years—before continuing to Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide.

This run comes after the release of Sheeran's new album, Play, scheduled for Friday, September 12. The album, available for pre-order, introduces an explorative, technicolour pop sound inspired by global musical cultures, including Indian and Persian influences connected to Irish folk traditions through shared scales, rhythms, and melodies. Sheeran collaborated with producers and musicians from around the world on the project. Lead singles include ‘Azizam’, which has been certified Gold and reached number one on Australian radio, along with ‘Sapphire’ and ‘Old Phone’.

The live shows promise a brand-new production centered on Play's joyful and expansive sound, incorporating new visuals, intimate acoustic moments, renowned loop pedal performances, and large-scale singalongs. Sheeran, who has sold nearly 200 million records worldwide, recently joined Spotify’s Billions Club for the 12th time and became the platform's fourth most-listened-to artist with over 100 million monthly listeners. Apple Music named his 2017 track ‘Shape Of You’ as the most-streamed song of the last decade.

Sheeran's previous visit in 2023 saw him perform to a record-breaking 200,000 fans over two nights at Melbourne’s MCG during his Mathematics Tour, part of a global outing that has sold over 2.5 million tickets in Australia and New Zealand to date.

Ticket presales begin with Telstra Plus Members on July 25 for Australian shows, Frontier Members on July 28, and general public sales on July 29, all via staggered times. Full details are available at frontiertouring.com/edsheeran. To combat scalping, tickets will be digitally delivered through official apps, with fans urged to buy only from authorized partners.
