On Saturday night, the results of Hong Kong's Mark Six Year of the Horse snowball draw were announced, with winning numbers 2, 18, 34, 35, 37, and 49, and special number 33. Five first-prize units shared the HK$200 million pool, each netting about HK$42.2 million (US$5.4 million). The second prize went to 13.5 units, each around HK$1.1 million, while the third prize was divided among 641.5 units, each receiving HK$63,650.

The draw's total turnover reached HK$402.3 million, 6.45 times the HK$62.4 million from the previous draw earlier in the week. This marks the highest first-prize fund in Mark Six history.

Earlier that day, long queues formed at betting branches across Hong Kong as residents rushed to buy tickets. Wong Chun-hung, a sales and marketing worker, said he spent HK$20 on system-generated random numbers. “I hope there is good fortune in the new year,” he said. “Good luck can come at any time.”

The event highlights the enthusiasm for lotteries among Hong Kong residents, particularly around the new year, as many seek a stroke of luck.
