More than a week after violence during the Ol Kalou by-election killed two people and injured dozens, no suspects have been arrested despite orders from President William Ruto.
A special team from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations formed to probe the incident had not left Nairobi as of Wednesday evening. Officers said they were still awaiting instructions from their superiors.
President Ruto spoke on Monday and ordered security agencies to enforce the law without bias against criminal gangs. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki backed the statement the next day and warned politicians against funding such gangs.
The delay comes even as photos, videos and vehicle registration numbers allegedly used by the attackers have been shared online.
