STF minister orders passport seizure of publicist linked to Vorcaro

Supreme Court Minister André Mendonça ordered the seizure of the passport of Thiago Miranda, owner of agency Mithi and hired by banker Daniel Vorcaro for crisis management at Banco Master, on Saturday (11).

The secret decision was confirmed by the STF press office to Folha. Mendonça serves as rapporteur in the cases involving alleged fraud at Banco Master.

Miranda was targeted in a Federal Police operation on Thursday (9), when cell phones and electronic equipment were seized at his residence. The action investigates coordinated activity on social networks aimed at undermining the credibility of the Central Bank.

Deputy Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ) had requested an electronic ankle bracelet, passport seizure and a travel ban the day before. Dialogues from 2025 accessed by the PF show attempts by Miranda and Vorcaro to hinder journalist Malu Gaspar and a dossier request against Itaú Unibanco CEO Milton Maluhy Filho.

Miranda's defense stated that he categorically refutes any illegality and that his professional conduct has always been guided by legality and transparency.

The PF report notes luggage bypassed x-ray screening, and the case was sent to the Supreme Federal Court and the Attorney General's Office. Motta and the plane's owner deny any wrongdoing.
