During the night leading into Monday, February 16, 2026, a major police operation is ongoing in a residential area in Farsta, southern Stockholm. The alert came just before 10 p.m. on Sunday evening, February 15, when a suspected dangerous object was found outside a row house.
Police have established an extensive cordon around the site. "We have an extensive cordon and we have contacted residents in some houses to not leave their homes," says Mats Eriksson, press spokesperson for Stockholm police.
Nothing has been touched at the scene, and experts from the bomb squad are expected to arrive soon to examine it. "We suspect it involves something dangerous and have initiated a preliminary investigation regarding preparation for public dangerous destruction," adds Eriksson.
At present, no suspect is identified in the case. Police are working to secure the area and investigate the incident further, but no additional details about the object have been released.
