Audrain Motorsport expands 2026 veteran car tour to full weekend

Audrain Motorsport is turning its Veteran Car Tour into a full weekend event in May 2026, focusing on rare brass-era vehicles in Newport and Bristol, Rhode Island. Collectors from New England and the United States will showcase historically significant cars seldom seen outside private collections. The expansion highlights the region's motoring heritage through scenic drives and social gatherings.

The Veteran Car Tour, organized by Audrain Motorsport, will expand to a full weekend in May 2026, according to a press release from event officials. This change aims to create a living showcase of automotive history in Newport and Bristol, Rhode Island, areas known for their motoring legacy.

The event begins on the morning of May 16 with a short drive through Newport, followed by a luncheon at The Vanderbilt, Auberge Collection. It then continues over two days of scenic touring in the region, allowing participants to see classic brass-era cars in motion and appreciate their engineering and historical importance.

"This tour is quickly becoming one of the most meaningful brass-era gatherings in the country," said Nic Waller, president of the Audrain Group. "Seeing these veteran cars on the road is both a tribute to the earliest days of the automobile and a reminder of why Newport, Rhode Island, remains such a special home for motoring culture."

Collectors and enthusiasts from across New England and the United States are expected to participate, bringing rare vehicles that highlight milestones in American automotive history. Registration for brass-era car owners is set at $395 per vehicle, covering two people, all driving activities, a Saturday lunch, and Sunday breakfast and lunch.

This expansion offers a unique opportunity for the public to witness these seldom-seen automobiles outside private settings, emphasizing the tour's role in preserving early motoring traditions.
