Bucknell women's track and field finishes fifth at Patriot League indoors

Bucknell University's women's track and field team placed fifth at the 2025-26 Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships in Boston, scoring 66 points despite injuries to several athletes. Standout performances included school records and multiple medals. Boston University claimed the team title.

The Bucknell Bison women's track and field squad competed at the Patriot League Indoor Championships held in Boston, Massachusetts, wrapping up on March 1, 2026. Despite absences due to injuries, the team amassed 66 points to secure fifth place overall. Boston University took first, with Army and Navy rounding out the top three.

Alexandra Lea shone in the sprints, earning silver in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.35, breaking the school record previously tied at 54.74 by Meghan Quinn. The sophomore, who now holds four Bucknell records, also placed fifth in the 200-meter dash at 24.46. Sprints coach Richard Alexander praised her resilience: "Alex has been battling injuries this entire indoor season but you would never know it with the way she has performed. To come out and finish second today and break the school record is a testament to her perseverance and determination."

Freshman Grace Camerlingo made an impressive debut, taking second in the 60-meter dash with 7.58, just behind Boston's Jada Smith at 7.51. Alexander noted, "Grace did a great job to finish second. That was a great field of women and she proved that she belongs with them."

In distance events, junior Kailey Granger set a personal record of 9:35.24 for fourth in the 3000-meter run, elevating her to second all-time at Bucknell. The distance medley relay team of Katie Moncavage, Jenna Wright, Madeline Kerr, and Caryn Rippey finished fourth at 11:37.35, fifth in program history. The 4x400 relay, featuring Lea, Raygan Lust, Piper Portacio, and Alison Cooke, placed fifth in 3:47.56.

Other point-scorers included Megan Baggetta (fifth in triple jump, 39-2.50), Noelani Sadler (fifth in 60-meter hurdles, 8.86), Katrina Torelli (seventh in mile, 4:50.99), and Raygan Lust (58.61 in 400-meter dash). Head coach Kevin Donner reflected, "Although nobody is ever happy with fifth as a team, the Patriot League is now one of the better mid-major conferences nationally and we littered our all-time top 10 list with individual and relay performances. We do recruit and structure our program for outdoor track and field."

Boston University dominated awards, with Jada Smith named Women's Track Athlete of the Meet and Highest Point Scorer, among others. Bucknell next hosts a dual meet against Binghamton on March 29 to open outdoors.
