In March 2026, Fold’s Pizza opened at 604 E. Main St. in The Joinery, replacing the former Ava Pizzeria spot. Run by the team behind Pizza Odyssey, it specializes in foldable Neapolitan slices, including a truffle mushroom option highlighted by staff.
February brought Grievous Angel to 801 E. Main St., a honky-tonk bar and restaurant from Jeremy Brumley, owner of LoveBird Almost Famous Chicken. The menu features smashburgers, cocktails, beignets, and patio seating, named after a Gram Parsons song. Nearby, The Flamingo Bean Co. launched its first cafe at 1318 Daughtery Rd. W. in north Lakeland, offering lattes, cold brew, pastries, and lunch items. Beef ‘O’ Brady’s also relocated to 4515 S. Florida Ave., providing sports bar fare with specials like Wing Wednesdays and Fish ‘n Chips Fridays.
January openings included Black & Brew Coffee House and Bistro's new location at 1324 Lakeland Hills Blvd. inside Lakeland Regional Health, marking the chain's 20th anniversary with hours from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Cafe 51 debuted at 1023 CR-540A, serving family recipes such as Chicken Spedini skewers by owners Kathy Billings and Tom LaBarbera. IHOP opened at 5280 US Hwy. 98 S. in Highland City, operating 24 hours for breakfast options.
Looking ahead, 2025 saw additions like Vampire Penguin for book-themed shaved snow desserts at 215 E. Pine St., and Hakucho for Japanese izakaya at 207 E. Main St. Upcoming spots include Wingnutz for wings in April 2026 at 1037 Dixieland Mall Ln., and Prima 135 steakhouse in summer 2026 at 113 S. Tennessee Ave. This trend reflects Lakeland's evolving food landscape, with more diverse cuisines on the horizon.
