Former world champion Marco Huck has celebrated a successful comeback fight in professional boxing at age 41. In Halle/Westfalen, he defeated Czech fighter Vaclav Pejsar by unanimous points decision after ten rounds. Huck plans more fights and aims for a world title bout.
Marco Huck, the native of Bielefeld and former cruiserweight world champion, has returned to the boxing ring at age 41. In his 51st professional fight, he faced Vaclav Pejsar in Halle/Westfalen and defeated him by unanimous points decision after ten rounds. The heavyweight thus secured his second win after nearly four years away from competition.
The fight location holds special significance for Huck: It was here in 2009 that he rose to world champion status and defended the title 13 times thereafter. After the bout, Huck stated in a ringside interview on DAZN: «Dear fans - I'm doing it for you!». Before the match, he had emphasized: «Everyone who knows me knows that if I do something, I want to be the best».
His initial comeback in June 2024 in Berlin against Evgenios Lazaridis also resulted in a victory, though the performance was described as mediocre. Huck later revealed that he had broken his right middle finger during training beforehand. He now signals ambitions for the future: More fights are planned, potentially including a world title bout.
