Rare 2000 Rover Mini Cooper LE offered at auction

A limited-edition 2000 Rover Mini Cooper LE, one of the last 300 produced to mark the Mini's 40th anniversary, is up for auction on PistonHeads UK. This restored example in Brooklands Green with an Old English White roof boasts low mileage and full documentation. The car, part of a private collection in Glasgow, Scotland, features a 1.3-litre engine and recent upgrades.

The 2000 Rover Mini Cooper LE represents a special edition based on the Cooper S, introduced in 1999 to celebrate 40 years of the classic Mini. Produced in limited numbers between 1999 and 2000, it includes features like rally-style front spot lamps and a full leather interior. This particular vehicle, restored over four years in 2015 at a cost of around £20,000, comes with photographic documentation and numerous specialist invoices for parts, servicing, and maintenance.

First registered on 03 March 2000, the car has eight former registered keepers and has been in its current ownership since 24 September 2025. It shows 69,469 indicated miles, with service history recorded in the original book: first service in 2000 at 10,613 miles, followed by services in 2005 at 24,333 miles, 2008 at 38,182 miles, and 2010 at 42,101 miles. Additional receipts cover services in 2019 and 2021, with the most recent service 60 miles ago. The MOT is valid until 23 February 2027, and an HPI check is clear.

Mechanically, it is equipped with a 1.3-litre inline four-cylinder engine, four-speed manual gearbox, and front-wheel drive. Recent additions include Koni adjustable shocks, polybushing in places, a new expansion bottle, and a Yuasa battery. The vendor reports no mechanical issues. Externally, the Brooklands Green paintwork has undergone recent correction by Blackbeard's Detailing, with new 13-inch Minilite alloy wheels and Yokohama A539 tyres fitted last year. The interior features full red leather upholstery, with the driver's seat restored last year, and includes an original stereo and Mini Cooper-branded steering wheel and gear knob.

The car, from a small private collection, includes two keys with remote fobs, the original book pack, and an all-weather cover. Viewings are available in Glasgow, Scotland, until the day before the auction ends.
