Rocky Romero has re-signed with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, continuing his multifaceted role in professional wrestling. He revealed the news during an interview, mentioning a brief break from travel demands. Romero maintains his position as a liaison between NJPW, AEW, and CMLL.
Rocky Romero, known for his roles as both an on-screen talent and behind-the-scenes liaison in professional wrestling, announced his re-signing with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). Speaking to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, Romero shared details about his ongoing commitments. "I just re-signed with New Japan. I’m still working at CMLL. I took a little break. Going back and forth was killing me a little bit. I took a little break, but I should be back in the next couple of months," he said.
Romero's responsibilities extend across promotions, including facilitating connections between NJPW, All Elite Wrestling (AEW), and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). On AEW television, he appears as part of the Don Callis Family. Although he will not compete at the upcoming NJPW New Beginning USA event on Friday in New Jersey, Romero contributed to arranging the event's lineup.
This re-signing underscores Romero's enduring presence in the industry, balancing performance and production roles amid the demanding schedule of international travel. The announcement highlights the collaborative nature of modern wrestling, where figures like Romero bridge different organizations to create cross-promotional opportunities.
