UBSI Jatiwaringin distributes nasi boxes to street workers during Ramadan

Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) Jatiwaringin campus is running the 'Berbagi Nasi Box' social activity from February 23 to March 13, 2026, every Monday to Friday during Ramadan. The program targets online motorcycle taxi drivers and street workers around the campus, seen as easing their daily burdens amid hot weather.

The 'Berbagi Nasi Box' activity by UBSI Jatiwaringin campus has received appreciation from online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol) operating around the campus area. The program runs during Ramadan 1447 Hijriah, from February 23 to March 13, 2026, every Monday to Friday, to assist informal sector workers facing economic conditions and hot weather in early 2026.

One beneficiary, ojol driver Firman, expressed his gratitude. "Alhamdulillah, this activity really helps us drivers. So we don't have to spend money on food while still on the road. Especially with the hot weather, this is a real blessing for us," said Firman when met at the event location in Bekasi on Monday (March 9, 2026).

Firman also praised the involved students. "The students are friendly and polite. The way they distribute the food is orderly and full of smiles. Hopefully other campuses can do the same, especially in East Jakarta," he added. He views UBSI's initiative as a Digital Creative Campus showing care for lower-middle economic communities.

UBSI Jatiwaringin Campus Head Ahmad Fauzi explained that the activity is part of the campus's commitment, with Unggul accreditation, to deliver beneficial and sustainable programs. "UBSI Jatiwaringin campus continues to commit to presenting quality activities as a campus with Unggul accreditation. Support and aspirations from workers like Firman motivate us to consistently run community service programs," Fauzi stated.

According to Fauzi, the action not only eases food needs but also builds harmonious relations with the surrounding community. As a Digital Creative Campus, UBSI instills social care values in students through such activities, to develop empathy and social responsibility.
