The event will stream exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. Brazilian reporter Leo Guimaraes first reported the bout on Twitter, with confirmation from multiple people familiar with the promotion's plans to MMA Fighting.
Alexander Volkov, nicknamed “Drago,” has been in strong form, winning five of his last six fights. His only loss in that span was a controversial decision to Ciryl Gane at UFC 310 in December 2024. Volkov rebounded with a split decision victory over Jailton Almeida at UFC 321 in October.
Waldo Cortes-Acosta, known as “Salsa Boy,” has also impressed recently, securing eight wins in his past nine bouts. He earned Breakthrough Fighter of the Year consideration last year and fought an impressive five times in 2025, finishing with a 4-1 record. Notable victories included finishes against Ryan Spann, Ante Delija, and Shamil Gaziev. In his latest outing, the 34-year-old stopped Derrick Lewis at UFC 324 in January.
