Kenyan government officials have initiated a series of leadership changes in multiple sectors through official gazette notices. Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya re-appointed Lt. Col. (Rtd) Edward Cherop Kimosop to the Advisory Committee on Military Veterans for a three-year term starting May 2, 2026. The notice states: 'In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10 (2) (c) of the Military Veterans Act, the Defence Council re-appoints Lt.Col. (Rtd) Edward Cherop Kimosop as a Member of the Advisory Committee on Military Veterans, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from May 2, 2026.'
In sports and creative industries, Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya re-appointed John Njogu Njoroge as Chairperson of the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) for three years from February 24, 2026. He also re-appointed board members including John Muigai Nyururu, Hariety Namwezi Zitah, Stephanie Kamene Maseki, Kipruto Kiptoo, John Osimbo, Grace Mwendwa Munjuri, and Raphael Ekadeli Loperito for the same period.
Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe re-appointed Gabriel Pulei to the Kenya Dairy Board for three years beginning February 20, 2026. Trade Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui re-appointed Francis Mugo as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Scrap Metal Council for three years.
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba made appointments to national polytechnic councils. He appointed James Okebiro Mageto and Ethel Nakhumicha Githirwa to the Kiambu National Polytechnic Council for three years. For Kabete National Polytechnic, he appointed Pauline M. Mallo Nagila and Julius Mokogi, and re-appointed Gilbert Kiptanui Nyongi, all for three years.
Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi re-appointed Mark Nderitu Muturi, Sammy Choge, and Peter Kenneth Kimani to the Board of Directors of the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC).
