Egypt and Serbia to sign MoU on healthcare cooperation

Egypt’s General Authority for Healthcare and Serbia have agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding to expand cooperation in digital health, medical technology and related fields.

The agreement was announced during a meeting in Cairo between Ahmed El-Sobky, chairperson of the authority, and Serbia’s Ambassador to Egypt, Miroslav Šestović.

El-Sobky said the planned memorandum covers areas including primary healthcare planning, electronic medical records, Artificial Intelligence applications, pharmaceutical manufacturing and hospital twinning programmes. He noted that the next phase will focus on medical technology transfer and healthcare education.

Šestović praised Egypt’s Universal Health Insurance System and highlighted existing cooperation between companies from both countries in medical technology. He said the anticipated free trade agreement would create further opportunities for investment.
