Fontaines D.C. and Grian Chatten contribute tracks to Help(2) album and Peaky Blinders soundtrack

The charity album Help(2) for War Child and the soundtrack for the new Peaky Blinders movie were released on March 6, 2026, featuring several new songs by Fontaines D.C. and frontman Grian Chatten. The releases include collaborations with artists like Damon Albarn and covers of tracks by Sinéad O’Connor and Massive Attack. The projects highlight contributions from a range of prominent musicians supporting charitable causes and cinematic storytelling.

On March 6, 2026, the Help(2) charity album, benefiting War Child to support young people affected by war and conflict, was released. This follows the original Help album from 1995, which featured artists such as Oasis, Blur, and Radiohead. Help(2) includes contributions from Beabadoobee, Beck, Beth Gibbons of Portishead, Olivia Rodrigo, and others.

Grian Chatten, frontman of Fontaines D.C., collaborated with Damon Albarn and Kae Tempest on the track 'Flags,' which features Johnny Marr, Dave Okumu, Adrian Utley, Seye Adelekan, Femi Koleoso, and a 43-piece children’s choir centered around a piano melody. Fontaines D.C. also covered Sinéad O’Connor’s 1990 protest song 'Black Boys On Mopeds.' The band described the experience as a “unique and life-affirming experience.” Producer James Ford explained, “Sinead was on the first ‘Help’ record and was such an icon of Irish music. A lot of her lyrics and the things she stood for seem to be pretty relevant to what’s happening now, unfortunately. This seemed very apt and fitting as the cover they chose. They did a great version, and I love all the weird Velvet Underground-y strings. They brought a bit of gravitas to it.”

Simultaneously, the soundtrack for the film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man was released. Chatten worked with composers Martin Slattery and Antony Genn on tracks including 'Opium Dreams,' 'Black Dahlia,' 'The Tunnel,' 'Medusa,' 'Ellipsis,' and 'Beckett Tests Duke.' The lead single 'Puppet' appeared in the film's trailer. Fontaines D.C. guitarist Carlos O’Connell contributed to 'Confession,' while Chatten collaborated with Lankum on 'Hunting The Wren (The Immortal Man Version)' and covered Massive Attack’s 'Angel.' The band's track 'Romance' from their 2024 album also features on the soundtrack.

Slattery and Genn stated they “absolutely fucking love Fontaines” and noted Chatten as “an edgy fucker” with “a lot more going on behind the eyes.” Other contributors include Nick Cave with a new version of 'Red Right Hand,' Girl In The Year Above covering Massive Attack’s 'Teardrop,' and Mclusky with 'People Person.' Cillian Murphy, the film's lead, is a fan of Fontaines D.C., having attended their 2024 Romance launch and calling himself “just a fanboy.” The movie is in cinemas now and arrives on Netflix on March 20.
