Charli XCX has unveiled her 12-track soundtrack album for Emerald Fennell's film adaptation of Wuthering Heights, released alongside the movie on February 13, 2026. The album features collaborations with John Cale and Sky Ferreira, capturing the story's raw and gothic essence. Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi star as the leads in the film.
Charli XCX's new album, Wuthering Heights, serves as the companion soundtrack to director Emerald Fennell's adaptation of Emily Brontë's classic novel, which hit cinemas on February 13, 2026. The British pop artist developed the music from the screenplay before filming began, creating a lush, orchestral soundscape that dives into themes of love described as grandiose, moody, and elusive. As Charli wrote on her Substack, it is a “dive into persona, into a world that felt undeniably raw, wild, sexual, gothic, British, tortured and full of actual real sentences, punctuation and grammar.”
The 12-song project marks Charli's first full-length release of original material since her 2024 album Brat. It includes previously shared tracks like “Wall Of Sound,” “Chains Of Love,” and “House,” featuring Welsh musician John Cale. A highlight is “Eyes of the World,” Charli's first collaboration with Sky Ferreira since 2019's “Cross You Out.” In an Instagram post, Charli thanked Fennell and collaborators including Finn Keane, Joe Keery, Justin Raisen, and the featured artists, calling the process “a dream come true. Elegant and brutal.”
Margot Robbie, who plays Catherine Earnshaw opposite Jacob Elordi's Heathcliff, praised the soundtrack during an interview with NME. “We were just hoping for one song, and she was like, ‘I’ll do an album’... It’s unbelievable,” Robbie said. Elordi noted the unique approach: “She started developing it from the screenplay, before we even started shooting... It’s like a completely original piece of work.” The film also stars Hong Chau, Alison Oliver, Shazad Latif, and Owen Cooper.
Robbie reflected on Charli's “wild” Glastonbury 2025 headline set, saying, “It feels like yesterday I was watching her perform... She knew the crowd and everyone went wild.” This soundtrack release coincides with a busy New Music Friday, but Charli's project stands out for its ties to the film's reimagining of the timeless tale.
