Marriott International has signed for St. Regis Queenstown, its first luxury hotel in New Zealand, set to open in late 2027. This development introduces the St. Regis brand to Queenstown, known as New Zealand's adventure capital.
Queenstown, New Zealand, is set to gain a new luxury hotel as Marriott International announces the signing of St. Regis Queenstown. The hotel, marking the brand's debut in the country and Marriott's first property in Queenstown, will open in late 2027. Located on a prominent corner site in downtown Queenstown, it offers sweeping views of Lake Wakatipu and the dramatic Remarkables mountain range.
The 145 guestrooms and suites will be within walking distance of restaurants, shopping districts, and waterfront attractions. Guests will have easy access to natural landmarks, including the ski fields of Coronet Peak and The Remarkables, as well as hiking trails and lake activities around Lake Wakatipu. Queenstown Airport serves as the gateway for international visitors to the South Island's alpine landscapes.
Signature St. Regis features include The Drawing Room, a refined social space reflecting the brand's heritage, and The St. Regis Bar for evening gatherings. An all-day dining restaurant and dedicated event spaces will cater to celebrations. The hotel's personalized butler service, a tradition over a century old, will assist with luggage, garment pressing, and tailored in-room hospitality.
Wellness amenities comprise the St. Regis Spa with hydrothermal facilities, treatment rooms, and a wellness lounge, alongside an indoor heated swimming pool and fitness center. These facilities provide relaxation options after activities like skiing, hiking, or exploring Queenstown's adventures, which also include jet boating, wine tourism, and lake cruises in the Otago region.
The St. Regis brand, originating in New York City in 1904, now includes more than 65 properties worldwide. This Queenstown project is the third St. Regis development announced in the Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific region, enhancing the area's premium hospitality offerings.
