The Chilean Navy's Meteorological Service issued a rough seas warning affecting coasts from the Los Lagos Region to Atacama, including Juan Fernandez Archipelago, between Sunday, July 26 and Tuesday, July 28.

The Zonal Center for Marine Meteorology of Valparaíso indicated that the phenomenon will occur from the Faro Corona sector, in the northern area of the big island of Chiloé, to Huasco.

Frigate Captain Carlos Gaete explained that the warning responds to an active frontal system that will affect the central and southern sector of the country, with waves from the west/southwest direction starting Sunday, July 26.

These rough seas correspond to the twenty-first warning affecting continental coasts during the current year. The Maritime Authority called on the community to act with prudence, avoid transit through rocky sectors and not enter the sea during the event.
