Penske Media Corporation has launched a new state-of-the-art movie theater at its West Los Angeles headquarters. The venue, seating 99 people, features advanced Dolby technologies and is designed for film premieres and events. Company executives highlighted its role in enhancing local access to high-quality screenings.
Penske Media Corporation, parent company of Variety, unveiled a new screening room on February 17, 2026, at its headquarters in West Los Angeles. The theater accommodates 99 seats and incorporates Dolby Atmos 7.1 sound with 43 speakers and Dolby Vision laser projection using a Christie Model #E3LH system. The screen measures 117 inches high by 264 inches wide, equipped with motorized four-way masking.
Nelson Anderson, senior vice president of creative at Penske Media, collaborated with Dolby engineers to create an immersive environment. He described the setup: “Their engineers built this theatre for a fully immersive experience,” noting the 43-speaker system provides “the most channels available, so that when you’re in the theater, you really do have that 360-degree sound. You’ll actually hear and experience things all around you.”
The interior design, handled by Los Angeles-based firm RIOS, extends to an adjacent concession area with a full bar. A third-floor amenity deck offers additional space for pre- or post-screening events.
Jay Penske, chairman and CEO, emphasized the theater's value: “This state-of-the-art theater, with its unparalleled sound and screen quality, allows us to bring stories to life in an immersive way that honors the artistry of filmmakers and a best-in-class experience to the audience. We know this incredible addition will be a valuable asset not only to the PMC portfolio but also to our partners across the industry, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with the creative community.”
Jerry Ruiz, senior vice president of operations and finance, added: “We’re thrilled to be open and to offer our brands, studios, streamers, and network partners an extraordinary screening venue to showcase their content to the most influential people in the industry right here at PMC’s L.A. headquarters. This theater is the perfect fusion of comfort, design and modern technology.”
Anderson further explained the facility's purpose: “We wanted to make it so that filmmakers or people who live and work in West L.A. don’t have to go all the way into Hollywood to have a state-of-the-art experience.” He noted that the theater aligns with the building's overall elegance and performance standards.
The venue aims to serve industry partners and the local creative community without requiring travel to central Hollywood areas.
