Renegade Games to publish Exodus tabletop RPG in 2026

Renegade Game Studios has announced it will publish the Exodus roleplaying game for tabletop, based on the sci-fi video game developed by Archetype Entertainment. The tabletop version is set for release later this year, ahead of the video game's 2027 launch. This marks a collaboration with Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast.

Renegade Game Studios revealed on March 2, 2026, its partnership with Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast to bring the Exodus tabletop RPG to market. The game draws from the narrative and world of the upcoming Exodus sci-fi RPG video game, currently in development by Archetype Entertainment, a studio owned by Wizards of the Coast and founded by former BioWare veterans.

The video game first captured attention when unveiled at The Game Awards in December 2023. Fans have praised it as a spiritual successor to the Mass Effect series. Both the video game and its tabletop adaptation were crafted by the same creative team at Archetype Entertainment, which includes James Ohlen, a former BioWare executive who has since left his role as studio head.

In a statement, Renegade Game Studios expressed enthusiasm for the project: “We’re excited to announce that we’re teaming up with Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast to publish the EXODUS Roleplaying Game for tabletop, based on the highly anticipated upcoming EXODUS sci-fi RPG video game.”

The tabletop RPG is scheduled for public release starting in August 2026, coinciding with Gen Con. This timing positions it to launch before the video game, expected in 2027. Renegade Game Studios, known for handling Hasbro-licensed tabletop titles such as G.I. Joe and Power Rangers, continues to expand its portfolio with this original IP from Archetype.

The announcement highlights ongoing ties between Hasbro properties and tabletop gaming, even as some shifts toward digital formats are noted in the industry.
