Chief Raoni Metuktire, 93, had a digestive hemorrhage on Friday (10). His health remains stable at Hospital São Paulo.
The indigenous leader has been hospitalized at Hospital São Paulo of UNIFESP since June 19 with intestinal obstruction and aspiration pneumonia. He underwent surgery the next day and had already experienced digestive hemorrhage at the end of June, stabilized by endoscopy.
According to the medical bulletin released on Saturday (11), Raoni is conscious, responds to commands and breathes without apparatus. He has slight renal worsening under treatment and cough with secretion, but accepts oral feeding. The hemorrhage was promptly controlled.
The chief was transferred from Sinop in Mato Grosso after medical evaluation. A new bulletin is expected on Sunday (12).
