DAX rises to highest level in almost three weeks

The DAX closed one percent higher on Monday at 25,361 points, marking its highest level in almost three weeks. The gain stems from hopes for peace in the Middle East after the US halted attacks on Iran.

The benchmark index rose as much as 1.5 percent intraday and crossed the 25,500-point mark. Its all-time high stands at 25,900 points. Mediators from Oman traveled to Tehran for talks.

A Handelsblatt survey showed a slight improvement in investor sentiment. The reading rose from minus 3.5 to minus 2.8 points. Analyst Stephan Heibel advised considering purchases based on the data.
