Chief Raoni Metuktire, 93, showed improvement in kidney function, according to a medical bulletin released on Sunday (12). He remains stable and conscious at Hospital São Paulo.
The Kayapó leader has been hospitalized at UNIFESP's Hospital São Paulo since June. On the 10th, he had a second episode of digestive hemorrhage, which was controlled by doctors.
The bulletin states that Raoni responds to commands, breathes ambient air and accepts oral feeding. He has a cough with secretion but showed improvement in kidney function.
The chief was transferred from Sinop in Mato Grosso for treatment in São Paulo. Earlier, at the end of June, he had already experienced upper digestive hemorrhage and underwent endoscopy.
