The sale by Charterhouse highlights vehicles sourced from the West Country.
The Haynes Motor Museum in Sparkford, Somerset, will host a Charterhouse auction on Thursday, March 26, featuring a collection of classic British cars with an emphasis on restoration projects. Among the highlights are a 1970 Jaguar E-type roadster and a 1966 Austin Mini Cooper, both icons of British motoring history.
The Jaguar E-type roadster was purchased in 1976 for £1,875 and driven for only two years before being stored in a heated garage near Dorchester. It includes its rare hard top and is estimated to fetch between £30,000 and £35,000. The Austin Mini Cooper has been in long-term dry storage near Shepton Mallet in Somerset and carries an estimated selling price of £7,000 to £10,000.
Richard Bromell of Charterhouse commented: "We all romanticise about finding projects in barns and garages, but I am fortunate that this is part of my day job. For this auction we have been unusually busy pulling out projects in all shapes and sizes throughout the West Country which either home or professional restorers will be tempted by."
Pre-sale viewing is available at the museum on Wednesday, March 25, and from 9am on the auction day. The sale begins at noon, with options for live internet bidding on Charterhouse's website. Prospective buyers can contact Charterhouse at 01935 812277 or cars@charterhouse-auction.com for valuations.
