According to Le Figaro, deputies Sabrina Sebaihi, elected in Hauts-de-Seine, and Steevy Gustave, elected in Essonne, are voicing their dissatisfaction with the ecologist group's choices for its parliamentary initiative day scheduled for this Thursday. They criticize their colleagues for placing a bill defended by Sabrina Sebaihi in fifth position on the agenda. This text aims to protect children from ultra-processed products by banning, among other things, added sugars in infant preparations to prevent serious risks such as overweight, obesity, diabetes, and metabolic diseases, as stated in the bill's explanatory memorandum.
This scheduling diminishes the likelihood that the law will be debated or adopted during the session at the Palais Bourbon. The two lawmakers intend to signal their opposition to the Greens' decisions, thereby weakening the ecologist group in the National Assembly. The incident occurs amid internal tensions within the group over legislative priorities.
