Goa tourism unveils regenerative vision at SATTE 2026

Goa Tourism debuted its regenerative tourism strategy at SATTE 2026, held at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi. The initiative emphasizes positive impacts on the environment, society, and local economies beyond traditional sustainability. The pavilion highlighted new experiences to position Goa as a year-round destination.

Goa Tourism participated prominently on the first day of SATTE 2026, South Asia’s Travel & Tourism Exchange, which opened at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre. The event was inaugurated by Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the Minister of Culture and Tourism for the Government of India. During his visit, the minister toured the Goa Tourism pavilion and interacted with the state's tourism delegation.

The delegation presented Goa's evolving tourism vision, focusing on strategies to establish the state as a sustainable, year-round destination. Central to this was the promotion of regenerative tourism, a concept that aims to create long-term benefits by preserving local culture and biodiversity while fostering economic opportunities for communities. As India's first state to adopt regenerative tourism, Goa seeks to lead in responsible practices that nurture the environment and support local businesses, aligning with global sustainability trends.

The pavilion drew interest from national and international travel stakeholders, particularly in experiential travel offerings. These include pristine beaches, historic landmarks, hinterland explorations, and niche circuits for eco-tourism, heritage, adventure, and wellness. Visitors engaged in discussions about newly launched destination circuits that provide authentic connections to Goa's culture and natural beauty, moving beyond traditional beach tourism.

Goa Tourism also showcased its “Live the Feeling” campaign, which invites travelers to immerse in the state's diverse heritage and offbeat experiences. The participation at SATTE 2026 facilitated partnerships with tour operators and agents, aiming to expand Goa's reach and promote inclusive growth in the sector. By diversifying offerings, Goa addresses seasonal fluctuations and appeals to environmentally conscious visitors seeking meaningful travel.
