EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, the voices behind the fictional K-pop group Huntr/x from Netflix's 'KPop Demon Hunters,' delivered a pre-recorded performance of 'Golden' outside Manchester's Co-op Live during the 2026 BRIT Awards on February 28. The rendition, featuring fireworks, marked the first K-pop performance at the ceremony and was held in front of invited fans, including children due to the event's age restrictions. Huntr/x was nominated for international group and 'Golden' for international song, but did not win either category.
The 2026 BRIT Awards took place at Co-op Live in Manchester on February 28, marking the first time the ceremony was held outside London in its nearly 50-year history. Hosted by Jack Whitehall for the sixth time, the event celebrated British and international music with performances from artists including Harry Styles, who opened with 'Aperture' accompanied by a gospel choir, Olivia Dean, Rosalía and Wolf Alice.
As part of the show, EJAE (Kim Eun-jae, 34, South Korean-American singer-songwriter), Audrey Nuna (Audrey Chu, 26, U.S.-born artist known for 'Damn Right' and 'Comic Sans') and Rei Ami (Sarah Yeeun Lee, 30, born in Seoul and raised in the U.S., viral for 'Freak')—the vocal talents for Huntr/x in Netflix's animated film 'KPop Demon Hunters'—performed their hit 'Golden.' The pre-recorded set occurred outside the venue following Harry Styles' act, with the trio trading verses before uniting for the chorus amid fireworks exploding behind them. This was the first-ever K-pop performance at the BRIT Awards.
'We are beyond thrilled to be nominated for two BRIT Awards this year celebrating the music of “KPop Demon Hunters,”' the trio stated ahead of the event. 'We can’t wait to bring a special performance to Manchester. See you soon U.K. fans!' Huntr/x received nominations for best international group (won by Geese) and international song for 'Golden' (won by Rosé and Bruno Mars' 'APT.,' making Rosé the first K-pop artist to win a BRIT Award).
Viewers praised the outdoor setup, allowing children to attend despite age restrictions inside. One tweeted, 'How lovely to put the K Pop Demon Hunters performance on outside the arena so kids could attend #Brits2026.' Another said, 'Think that’s actually adorable performing outside for the kids... Class act co-op. #Brits2026.' A third noted, 'Love the Kpop Demon Hunters are performing outside so the kids can be there. Manchester does it best #Brits2026.' Fans also expressed emotion over the milestone, with one posting, 'I can’t believe they’re performing golden at the brits genuinely crying #BRITs.'
'KPop Demon Hunters,' Netflix's most-watched original with over 500 million viewers, won Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for 'Golden' at the Golden Globes, and the song earned a Grammy for Song Written for Visual Media. It is nominated for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song at the Oscars on March 15. The soundtrack has spent 30 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Official Compilations Chart and amassed over 10.8 billion streams.
