Jhanda says Keumbu residents were provoked by Linda Mwananchi

MP Zaheer Jhanda has condemned violence that caused one death in Keumbu market more than a week ago.

Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda said residents defended themselves after Linda Mwananchi leaders transported hooligans who started attacking them.

He said the group carried arrows and clubs and threw stones at the convoy. Videos show men and women attacking vehicles and one man falling from an SUV.

The victim identified as Vincent Osiemo popularly known as Mapinduzi was confirmed dead. Police were at the scene but did not intervene.

Jhanda sent condolences to the deceased's family and insisted that people in the area love peace.
