그녀는 1996년 호스피스 병동에 합류해 통증 관리와 임종 돌봄 기준을 발전시켰다. 5년 전 본인도 암을 겪으며 환자들의 고통을 더 깊이 이해하게 됐다고 밝혔다. 박 팀장은 한국의 제한된 호스피스 병상 확대를 희망했다.
