Rising rock musician Kurt Deimer has released his new single "Always There," from his upcoming sophomore album A Grog Is Born, set for release on May 8 via Bald Man Records. The track highlights a country-rock style and reflects on personal struggles and support from family. The album features collaborations with notable artists and production by Chris Lord-Alge.
Kurt Deimer, known as a rock musician, actor, songwriter, and film producer, unveiled his single "Always There" on March 9, 2026. This release previews his second album, A Grog Is Born, scheduled for May 8 through his label Bald Man Records. The song describes a twangy tale of destruction and salvation, emphasizing Deimer's exploration of a country-rock sound.
Deimer shared insights into the track's inspiration: "‘Always There’ is my favorite song on the new album. I went through a lot of trouble in my life. I had addictions when I was younger. I had anxiety when I was younger. But I had those core people, like the best mom and dad, that helped me get through those very bad times and helped me grow as an individual until I could figure out on my own what was going on. Without giving up hope on me or kind of throwing me to the side, they were always there."
Produced by five-time Grammy winner Chris Lord-Alge, who has worked with Green Day and Breaking Benjamin, the 12-track album blends hard rock, balladry, and other styles. It connects Deimer's music career with his horror film persona under the Grog name. The opening track, "In Deep," features Buckcherry's Josh Todd and recently reached No. 39 on the Mediabase Active Rock chart. This single addresses a hypnotic attraction, with its music video incorporating scenes from the film Scared To Death. An acoustic version of "In Deep" was released in January.
Other highlights include a guest appearance by Queensrÿche's Geoff Tate on a reinvention of "Silent Lucidity" and a heavy take on Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight." The full tracklist is: In Deep featuring Josh Todd, No Tomorrow, Bye Bye Love You, True, In The Air Tonight, Scared To Death, Bombs Over Birmingham, Take It In, Always There, Pringles, 800 AD, Silent Lucidity featuring Geoff Tate.
This album follows Deimer's debut And So It Begins…, released in May 2025, which included contributions from Bon Jovi's Phil X and Tate. Deimer's band has toured with acts like Drowning Pool, Tesla, and Skid Row. Upcoming shows support the new release, including WJRR’s Earthday Birthday in Orlando, Florida, on March 21.
