The Liberal Party convention in São Paulo on Saturday (25) ratified Flávio Bolsonaro's presidential candidacy, featuring an AI video of Jair Bolsonaro and a speech by Argentine President Javier Milei.
At the event, an AI-generated video was shown in which Jair Bolsonaro, under house arrest, declares support for his son Flávio and states he is "imprisoned and silenced by an unjust decision". PT deputies, including Dandara and Reimont, requested the Attorney General's Office to investigate for irregular electoral propaganda and violation of a TSE resolution on deepfakes.
Javier Milei spoke at the event and called STF minister Alexandre de Moraes "lixo careca" after being denied a visit to Jair Bolsonaro. STF President Edson Fachin repudiated the statement as a "disrespectful reference to a magistrate of the country's highest Court, made on Brazilian soil". PT President Edinho Silva described the remarks as "inadmissible".
President Lula, at a PT convention in Campinas on the same day, criticized the use of artificial intelligence by opposition campaigns. The TSE stated it had been contacted by the US embassy regarding a visit by State Department officials, whose visas were denied by Itamaraty.
