A man who was 16 at the time is sentenced for throwing two hand grenades at a hair salon in Gränby, Uppsala, in December 2024. Another person is sentenced for instigating the crimes.
Police were alerted to the salon in December 2024. Two hand grenades were thrown at the building and later neutralized.
The now 18-year-old man is sentenced for attempted gross public dangerous destruction and violation of the law on flammable and explosive goods, gross crime. The penalty is youth care and youth service.
Another person is sentenced for instigating the same crimes. Defense lawyer Jonas von Heidenstam says it is good that closed youth care was avoided despite the seriousness of the crime.
