The Finnish rock band Von Hertzen Brothers is celebrating 25 years since their debut album with a year of live shows and limited-edition reissues. Key releases include remastered and remixed versions of early albums, set for April 2026. The anniversary also marks steps toward their tenth studio album.
Von Hertzen Brothers, the Finnish rock outfit, enters 2026 marking a quarter-century since the release of their debut album, Experience. The band has planned a full year of commemorative events, including concerts, archival material drops, and initial work on a new studio record.
Domestically, celebrations kick off with a sold-out acoustic set at the Finnish National Theatre on April 10. On the international front, they will headline the Sunday night at the Call of the Wild Festival on May 31 and perform at the Steelhouse Festival on July 25, with more tour dates to follow.
Central to the milestone are limited physical reissues of fan-favorite albums long out of print. The first is a 'platinum edition' of their EMMA Award-winning second album, Approach, remastered by Henkka Niemistö. This double vinyl features a platinum-foiled gatefold sleeve, platinum-colored vinyl, and bonus live tracks: 'Let Thy Will Be Done' and 'River' from Tavastia in 2008, plus 'Ebb Tide Ride' from Debatably Live in 2006.
Their third album, Love Remains the Same—the band's first domestic chart-topper and recently named among Loudwire's top 25 progressive albums of the 2000s—gets a fresh remix by Jussi Jaakonaho. Issued as a limited 'gold edition' double LP with gold-foiled packaging and gold vinyl, it includes three extra live cuts from Tavastia 2008: 'Bring Out the Sun (So Alive)', 'Freedom Fighter', and 'Somewhere in the Middle'.
Band member Mikko reflected on the rediscovery of original sessions: "We have dreamt of having our first #1 album remixed for years, but there was never really an actual possibility for that. We thought we had lost the recordings due to label changes, studio moves and just simply our lack of organisation. Last year, while going through our archives, we found a hard drive from almost twenty years ago. After finding the right cable to hook it up we were astounded to find the original sessions of Love Remains the Same on it. We immediately thought about remixing the whole shalabang for this 25th anniversary. Our friend Jussi (who has mixed our songs many times before) was up for the task. We always felt it needed more punch and drive and he was able to bring that into the music. Furthermore, the mastering tools are now so different from the time these albums were released that we also wanted to remaster our “breakthrough” album Approach. To our ears, both of these versions sound better, wider and more “up-to-date” than the originals."
CD editions with enhanced packaging, merchandise bundles, and signed copies will be available via the band's website. Pre-orders open February 9, 2026, with releases on April 17, 2026. Additional reissues are slated for later in the year, after which the group will focus on their tenth album.
