Wolf and lynx kill five sheep in Sörmland

Two separate predator attacks have killed a total of five sheep in Sörmland in recent days. A lynx killed one sheep and a wolf killed four.

The wolf attack took place during the night to Monday between Runtuna north of Nyköping and Stjärnhov in Gnesta. The lynx attack occurred during the night to Friday last week between Eskilstuna and Strängnäs.

This was the third wolf attack in the county this year and the first lynx attack. The county administrative board has visited both sites after the incidents.

The attacks follow earlier reports of wolf activity in the area during 2026.
