Blackbraid, the indigenous solo black metal project, has announced a new three-track EP titled Nocturnal Womb, set for independent release on March 6, 2026. The EP features the debut single "Celestial Bloodlust," accompanied by a performance video from a recent show in Stockholm, Sweden. Additional material includes an acoustic version of a track from Blackbraid III.

Blackbraid revealed details of its upcoming EP, Nocturnal Womb, which will be released independently on Friday, March 6, 2026. The EP comprises three tracks: "Nocturnal Womb," "Celestial Bloodlust," and an acoustic instrumental version of "Barefoot Ghost Dance on Blood Soaked Soil." According to the project, the material was deemed too dark and visceral to include in the narrative of its latest album, Blackbraid III, released on August 8, 2025.

Ahead of the EP's launch, Blackbraid debuted the single "Celestial Bloodlust," described in sources as a sharp and furious black metal track fitting the project's style. A performance video for the single, created by Moshmallows, uses footage from Blackbraid's recent show at Kollektivet Livet Bar & Scen in Stockholm, Sweden. The track is currently streaming online.

Blackbraid, a solo indigenous black metal project from the Adirondack wilderness, draws inspiration from nature, overpowering emotions of rage and sadness, and the deep spirituality of its creator, Sgah’gahsowáh, who honors Mohawk land through the music. The project positions itself as fiercely independent, carving a path for indigenous and underground musicians.

In support of the release, Blackbraid has scheduled a headline tour of the UK and Ireland from April 9 to 15, 2026, with support from Winterfylleth and Noctem. Dates include Bristol at The Fleece on April 9, Manchester at Rebellion on April 10, Dublin at Whelan’s on April 11, Belfast at Limelight 2 on April 12, Glasgow at Slay on April 13, Birmingham at Asylum on April 14, and London at The Garage on April 15.

European festival appearances are also confirmed, such as Dark Easter Metal Meeting in Munich, Germany on April 4; Samhain Festival in Antwerpen, Belgium on April 5; Brutal Assault in Jaroměř, Czech Republic on August 6; Hellsinki Metal Fest in Helsinki, Finland on August 7; Alcatraz in Kortrijk, Belgium on August 9; and Summer Breeze Open Air in Wittelshofen, Germany from August 12 to 15.
