Indie folk music artist Sam Beam, better known by his stage name Iron & Wine, marked his return to new music with the release of the EP 'Roses' on Friday, February 6. The EP consists of three songs: the title track 'Roses,' 'In Your Ocean,' and 'Robin's Egg,' the latter featuring the band I'm With Her.
Accompanying the EP, Iron & Wine dropped a music video for 'Roses' on the same day. The video showcases animated sketches, with swirling leaves and giant rabbits hopping across the screen, creating a whimsical visual narrative.
In the song, Beam sings evocative lyrics: "Run into the one you love forever, laugh into each other's empty mouth. We all fall through the window, babies having babies, everything crying out loud."
These tracks will appear on Iron & Wine's forthcoming album, 'Hen's Teeth,' scheduled for release on February 27. The album will also include the songs 'Paper and Stone,' 'Singing Saw,' 'Defiance, Ohio,' 'Wait Up' with I'm With Her, 'Grace Notes,' 'Dates and Dead People,' and 'Half Measures.'
This release signals a continuation of Beam's introspective indie folk style, building anticipation among fans for the full album later this month.
